Great diving, the Oosterschelde is a 5 km wide estuary with North Sea biotope where you can see a lot of sea life. Next to the Oosterschelde, a tidal body of water is the Grevelingenmeer. This is a part of the former delta which has been sealed off. There is still exchange of seawater with the Oosterschelde so it also has a lot of sea life but without the tides. Diving in the Grevelingenmeer can be done every moment of the day. Shore diving is the rule in Zeeland so you just take your dive gear out of the trunk of your car and you step into the water. Dive centers can be found al around the Oosterschelde and the Grevelingenmeer. They provide air fillings, rental gear, dive training and just local advice about the diving. Popular dives sites have car parkings, pontoons and are well marked.
