When Is the Best Time
The best time to visit the island of Amrum in Germany is from June to September when the temperatures are mild and there is little to moderate rainfall. The highest average temperature on Amrum is 19°C in July and the lowest temperature is 4°C in February.
For swimming, July and August are the best months in Amrum. Especially, if you would like to jump into the cool water in sunny weather.
Shoulder Season
Reliable sunshine hours can be already caught in May, which is also a recommended travel time. The fewest rainy days are to be expected in May as well. The peak season has not yet started, so the island still has its original charm – and yet the sun with beautiful weather attracts all locals visitors for outside activities. The many bike rental companies have already opened their doors – nothing stands in the way of exploring the beautiful island of Amrum.
Low Season
The low season shines with reliable bad weather. November has the most rainy days. However, the rain passes more quickly than on the mainland, and permanent gray skies are quite rare.
Amrum Lighthouse Tip: To beat the crowds visit between arrivals of the ferries. During winter only open on Wednesdays.
Lighthouse Times: This is the oldest lighthouse in Germany. It was built 1875. Opening times during summer: Mo. – Fr. 08.30 – 12.30. Closed in winter except for Wednesday.
