When Is the Best Time
Open year-round except for holidays, most of the exhibits are inside. However, there is an interesting medicinal garden on the grounds. The museum is open Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 10 am – 4 pm
This unassuming museum offers a fantastic overview of medical research between the 1850’s and 1990’s. Originally, Indiana Hospital for the Insane, the institution was a hub for education and pathology. What’s so unique are the amount of original instruments and the near-perfect preservation of the building itself. Personally, I think it’s a great place to go during October to celebrate the Halloween season.
