Mae rim Elephant Camp Home (From Chiang Mai)

When Is the Best Time

Winter is a great season to visit this place but if you aren’t bothered by a few hours of afternoon rains then August-September is also a great time to go as there will be fewer tourists at this time of the year.

Review and More Tips

The main draw here are the Elephants. After you have paid the entrance fees (1500 Baht per person and 500 Baht for photo CD), you start your experience by the caretakers explaining the basic elephant facts and how to use Thai language to get the elephants to respond to you.

Then you start by learning to cut sugarcane for the elephants, taking them for a walk in the forest, gathering food for them in the forest, feeding them, giving them a mud bath and then taking them down to the river to give them a good scrubbing and cleaning and then head back to camp.

It is going to be an amazing experience that you will cherish forever.
