When Is the Best Time
The best time to visit Paraty in Brazil is in the spring, summer, and autumn.
Nice diving, quite shallow but lots of marine life. The town is Portuguese colonial style with a nice atmosphere. The dive operator we used was Adrenalina Diving.
Paraty Tips and Things to Do
The historic center of Paraty is beautiful. However, during high tide, any of the alleys in the center are flooded with water. The reason for this is that everything was built at sea level. Even after a strong rain, which is common here, large puddles form on the streets and remain for hours. The abundance of water and the irregular stone pavement itself make Paraty a place that should only be explored with proper footwear.
What is special about Paraty is that, in addition to the historic center, it has a number of other nearby highlights to offer:
- The nearby Atlantic Rainforest, which is one of the last well-preserved remains of this natural area in Brazil. Amazing excursions are being offered here.
- The close village of Trindade has dream beaches, which not only inspire the numerous surfers. The vacation program always includes a boat trip to some of the many bays and offshore dream islands.
- And last but not least, the numerous festivals throughout the year attract many guests. By the way, you should always take these dates into account when planning your trip.
