Best Time to Visit Las Vegas

Las Vegas

The best time of year to visit Las Vegas is between March and May and then in September or October. The spring and fall experience moderate temperatures and avoid the oppressive summer heat. Crowd levels during these times make for a pleasant visit, and there are great deals on hotel rooms in the shoulder seasons.

Best Time to Visit Las Vegas for Pool Parties

Las Vegas

The best time for pool parties in Las Vegas is when they take place, which is at the weekend. Arrive for their opening time around 11 am to avoid waiting to get in. Some pool parties are open during the week, which can offer a quieter and more relaxing experience.

The pool party season begins as early as March each year, and between March and May, you will enjoy fewer crowds. However, if you are looking for the wild Las Vegas pool party experience, head here around Spring Break or the summer months.

Best Time to Visit Las Vegas With Family

Las Vegas

The best time to visit Las Vegas as a family is between March and May or between September and November when the temperatures are not too high. Avoid Spring Break and between June and August when traveling with young children. Families will find the weather is much more pleasant in the shoulder seasons, and kids will be able to stay out in the sun without fear of overheating.

You’ll find great deals during spring and fall while also avoiding large crowds and rowdy parties. If you are planning to explore the Las Vegas Strip, head out in the daytime to avoid dealing with the party crowd in the evening and nighttime.

Best Time to Visit Las Vegas for Pleasant Weather

Las Vegas

April and May and then September and October are the best times to visit for pleasant weather in Las Vegas. By avoiding the summer months, visitors can enjoy temperatures that make exploring and sitting by the pool much more enjoyable.

The summer months are incredibly hot in Las Vegas and are best avoided by most visitors. Winter can still offer visitors moderate temperatures and minimal rain. If you are visiting in the summer months, avoid being out in the heat during the middle of the day, as it may ruin how you feel for the rest of the day.

Best Time to Travel for Cheap and to Avoid the Crowds

Las Vegas

For the best time to travel to Las Vegas for cheap and avoid the tourist crowds, visit between June and August. Conventions and events rarely take place during this time, so hotels and shows offer lower prices. The heat is unbearable for many visitors during the summer, so most tourists opt to shift their trip earlier or later in the year.

If you don’t fancy visiting during the hottest time of the year, early December is another great time to visit. By avoiding Thanksgiving and Christmas, you can find some good rates on hotel rooms and Las Vegas attractions while avoiding the hot summer temperatures.

Best Time to See the Fountains of Bellagio

Las Vegas

The best time to see the fascinating dancing Fountains of Bellagio is after sunset with the lights in the background. It is also more crowded during the daytime.

The fountains erupt every at different times:

Monday to Friday

  • 3 PM to 8 PM: Every 30 minutes
  • 8 PM to 12 AM: Every 15 minutes

Saturday to Sunday

  • 12 PM to 8 PM: Every 30 minutes
  • 8 PM to 12 AM: Every 15 minutes
Best Time to Visit Downtown Las Vegas

Las Vegas

The best time to visit Downtown Las Vegas is between 6 pm and 8 pm. After 8 pm, the crowds pick up, particularly on Fremont Street. The Fremont Street light show takes place each hour and starts between 6 pm and 8 pm, depending on the season.

Try to time your visit so you can catch at least one round of the light show before heading back to your hotel or for dinner. The show varies between performances, so you may want to experience it twice during your visit.

Best Time to Ride the High Roller Las Vegas

Las Vegas

For the best time to ride the High Roller Las Vegas, visit at sunset. Arrive just before sunset to enjoy both a daytime and night-time experience in one rotation. If you are looking for a great photography opportunity, time your ride just before sunset to enjoy taking photos before everything turns dark. For the most spectacular views of the strip, you’ll enjoy riding the High Roller in the dark.

The only time we don’t recommend going on the High Roller is on Earth Day or Earth Hour, which take place in April and March, respectively. All the lights are switched off for an hour during that time, and you’ll see absolutely nothing on your ride.

Best Time to Get Married in Las Vegas

Las Vegas

October is the best time to get married in Las Vegas as the weather is mild this month. Alternatively, April and May experience similar temperatures but are sometimes windy.

If you are looking to enjoy an outdoor ceremony or wedding photos, avoid December to February, as it can become a little cooler during these times. You’ll find the temperatures are incredibly unpleasant in the summer months for standing around all day in wedding attire.

Best Time to Book a Hotel Room

Las Vegas

The best time to book a hotel room in Las Vegas is three months before a vacation. Booking too early often means missing out on discounts. The best hotel room prices are mid-week, and the summer months offer the greatest discounts.

Winter also offers good hotel prices, but you’ll just want to avoid Thanksgiving and Christmas. If you are set on staying in a particular hotel for your trip, try finding an option for booking without a cancellation fee. If a discount does then appear, you can switch over without being penalized.
