Weather Overview
As Las Vegas is located in the Mojave Desert, Nevada, expect to receive high temperatures during June, and slightly cooler evenings and mornings, once the sun has set or not risen yet.
The weather during June in Las Vegas is hot and sunny. The daily average maximum temperatures increase throughout the month ranging from 94°F (34°C) to 103°F (39°C). The humidity is low and it rarely rains with an average of 0.1 inches.
Average high temperatures during June:
- Early June: 94°F (34°C)
- Mid-June: 98°F (37°C)
- Late June: 103°F (39°C)
đĄ Temperatures at the beginning of June are considerably cooler than later in June. If you do not enjoy the heat should we suggest visiting during early June to avoid the high temperatures.
Expect a constant supply of sunshine during June, with average high temperatures of around 99°F(38°C). There is no rain expected and little to no breeze so gets quite dry during the day.
Typical weather progression during a day in June:
- Early (7:30 AM): 83°F
- Noon (4:00 PM): 102°F
- Evening (9:00 PM): 95°F
Before 10 AM, temperatures are generally less than 90 degrees and bearable for most people. After that, the arid heat turns on like an inescapable oven. This can be especially noticeable when getting into a car thatâs been parked in the sun.
Is June Too Hot?
June is partly cooler than July and August in Las Vegas but already very hot. The temperatures increase throughout the month and exceed 100°F (38°C) at the end of June. Additionally, it will be as hot as in the upcoming peak summer months if a heatwave happens.
Whether you can tolerate or even enjoy Vegas’ dry summer heat, especially towards the end of the month, depends on the temperatures you are used to and your personal preferences. Read our activity guide further below with tips for appropriate activities morning, afternoon, and evening.
đĄ If youâve rented a car to get around or brought your own, try to find shaded parking in June. Additionally, use a sunshade for the windshield, and roll all the windows down to let the heat out when you first get in. Be aware that you can be badly burned by a seat buckle if youâre not careful!
Tip: Hailing rideshare or taxi can be much more comfortable since youâll be getting into an already air-conditioned car.
Is It Cold at Night?
During June in Las Vegas it cools down a little at night but it doesn’t get cold. Temperatures fall to around 77°F (25°C) at nighttime on average. In early June it can be as cold as 70°F (21°C) during the night.
Humidity
During June the humidity in Las Vegas is at its lowest at 15%, which means that the air will be the driest during this month. Most visitors can handle the dry heat much better than hot and humid conditions.
Rainfall
June is also the driest month of the year for Las Vegas. It rarely rains and any rainfall tends to be very light spontaneous showers. The average rainfall is 0.1 inches and rarely exceeds 0.5 inches. So you can relax and enjoy your trip without needing to pack an umbrella or a raincoat.
What to Wear | Packing and Outfit Tips
During June in Vegas, plan to wear short-sleeve t-shirts and shorts during the day. A sun hat is essential for the heat. Pack swimwear for the pools and light layers for the evenings. When visiting nightclubs, ladies wear dresses, and men wear dark jeans and a button-down shirt.
There is no official dress code when visiting shows or casinos, and some visitors don’t dress up at all. However, for men, it’s appropriate to wear formal jeans or dress pants, and button-down shirts. The ladies should opt for an evening dress or a cocktail dress.
More about outfits for casinos and restaurants later!
The sun is extremely powerful during June, so bear this in mind if you plan to do a lot of walking. Packing a refillable water bottle is essential. If you are planning on outside activities and day trips, bring a sun hat and sunscreen to avoid heat stroke.
Do You Need a Sweater?
Due to the very warm weather in June, some visitors save space in their suitcases and leave the sweaters at home.
You will definitely be sweating while walking around in the dry heat, so many people enjoy the chilly air conditioning in nearly all establishments as it helps them bring down their temperatures.

- Made of 60%Acrylic and 40%Polyamide fabric soft and stretchy comfortable to wear
đĄ However, we recommend packing a light sweater if you get cold easily, as the air conditions in casinos and restaurants are on full blast.
Carrying Your Belongings
Bring a bag or backpack that can carry all your belongings while you walk around and explore the city. With the abundance of shops and eateries, you will need your hands free to make purchases and try things out!
Before your day in Vegas, plan to stock your bag with a refillable water bottle, sunscreen, your wallet, your phone, a phone charger, and hand sanitizer.
đĄ Vegas is a mecca for pickpockets! That’s why we always suggest a bag with anti-theft features (see our recommendations in the table above) to keep your belongings safe in the city!
If an anti-theft bag is not an option for you, bring a bag you can securely strap across your chest or around your waist with the opening in your line of vision, like a satchel or fanny pack.
Safety Tip
Regardless of how you choose to store and carry your belongings, always be aware of your surroundings. Pay attention to where you are, who is around you, and keep track of your things at all times.
You donât want to put a kink in your vacation by having your items lost or stolen!

Jeans or Shorts?

Most people don’t find it comfortable to spend the day walking around in jeans while average temperatures sit at around 100°F in June.
While the weather is void of humidity and stickiness, wearing tight denim will still feel like itâs suffocating your skin in the dry heat.
If you must wear jeans instead of shorts or a skirt, avoid skinny jeans and go for a looser style like boyfriend or mom jeans. This will depend on how much you care about how your outfit looks versus how comfortable you are, but itâs possible to style looser jeans like a pro while still being comfortable on your trip.

Jeans are the right move at nighttime or if you plan on staying indoors for most of the day, like in restaurants or casinos where the air conditioning can get pretty cold. Otherwise, try to let your legs get some air.
đĄ Conclusion: Wear jeans in the evenings and at night or if you are indoors for most of the time, and shorts during the day if you are outside.
Protect your thighs: Because of all the sweating youâll likely be doing, if youâre wearing short shorts, plan on bringing baby powder and lotion to absorb the moisture between your thighs and reduce chafing.

The best part about being a tourist in Las Vegas, whether youâre visiting the Strip or local gems, is you can wear walking sneakers and other comfortable gear just about anywhere during the day.
đĄ Make sure you wear shoes that you can wear all day without hurting your feet.
Especially because it will be very hot, dressing comfortably is always better than dressing to impress but suffering from a heatstroke. You can likely style your walking sneakers with shorts and any T-shirt or tank top.
Tip: If you plan to wear high heels in the evening, bring a thick pair of socks in your bag. Since you likely wonât have a pair of sandals in your clutch for your dinner outfit, this will give your feet a break and keep you from walking around the Vegas streets or casinos barefoot.
Keep Safe in the Sun
Even though it will protect your skin, it might not be comfortable to wear long sleeves in the heat. At the very least, keep a hat and sunglasses on and wear plenty of sunscreen.
Tip: A pair of chic sunglasses can elevate any outfit. For hats, think stylish yet practicalâmaybe a cute fedora or a wide-brimmed hat for added sun protection. If you want to keep it more casual, a baseball cap can work just fine.
The desert sun will feel very strong, so make sure youâre wearing a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher for any extended outdoor activity.
Tip: Applying sunscreen in the morning wonât be enough if you plan on being out all day. Reapply at least every two hours, especially if you are sweating.

Personal Experiences and Tips
Bring extra hair ties: While the desert heat might not feel so bad because of the lack of humidity, it can still be unbearable, especially if you have long or thick hair.
I broke a scrunchie in the summer when I was walking around in Vegas, and if I didnât have an extra one in my bag, it would have been a really frustrating day.
If youâre really in a pinch, you can buy some at a nearby shop, but Iâd be wary of overcharging and just remember to pack more than one!
Lotion, lotion, lotion: Even though youâll be sweating, the dry air will still suck all the moisture from your skin. Keep lotion in your bag and put on as much as you can, especially after a day of sweating or swimming in your hotel pool.
I donât have particularly dry skin, but the Vegas weather always dries out my hands no matter what I do in the summer and winter. If you donât like the feeling of lotion or donât want to apply it during the day, invest in a thick cream to put on your skin at night to let it absorb some moisture.
Stay in the shade: Bring a small portable umbrella with you whether youâre lounging by the pool or walking down the Strip! Even with sunscreen and a hat, I always feel like the summer sun in Las Vegas is going to bake my skin off.
I keep a small, light colored umbrella with me everywhere during Vegas summers. The light colors reflect the sunâs rays and keep me cooler in the permanent shade, plus it helps protect my skin. This is a lifesaver to help ease the heat a little bit!

Outfits for Casinos | Restaurants | Clubs | Shows
Casino
Las Vegas casinos don’t enforce a specific dress code, but it’s generally expected that guests dress sensibly.
Even in the most upscale casinos, casual attire is completely acceptable, provided it’s neat and presentable.
Feel free to visit any Las Vegas casino in shirts and trousers without worrying about being judged for your choice of clothing.
Dressing for the Hotel Casino
In Las Vegas casinos, your attire can vary based on the hotel and time of day. During daytime, both men and women can go for a relaxed yet neat look with shorts or jeans, blouses, sport shirts with collars, or tasteful t-shirts.
In the evening, the dress code shifts slightly towards formality. Opt for jeans, slacks, blouses, skirts, dresses, button-down shirts, or jackets. Flip flops are a no-go.
While most casinos don’t enforce a strict dress code, observing what others wear can be a helpful guide.
- Men:
- Daytime: Shorts or jeans
- Collared sport shirts or neat t-shirts
- Evening: Jeans or slacks
- Button-down shirts or jackets
- Women:
- Daytime: Shorts, jeans, or casual dresses
- Blouses or stylish tops
- Evening: Jeans, slacks, or skirts
- Dresses, blouses, or elegant tops
Nightclub
Dressing for the Nightclub
Nightclubs and lounges in Vegas usually have a dress code focused on smart and attractive attire. Avoid shorts, torn clothes, sneakers, flip flops, and plain t-shirts.
A more polished look is preferred â think business casual. This includes pressed jeans or slacks, button-down shirts, suitable dresses, skirts, blouses, and closed-toe leather shoes.
Adding a jacket to a collarless shirt like a t-shirt or pullover can elevate the outfit.
- Men:
- Pressed jeans or slacks
- Button-down shirts (long or short sleeved)
- Jackets (optional but recommended)
- Closed-toe leather shoes
- Women:
- Suitable dresses or skirts
- Blouses or stylish tops
- Pressed jeans or slacks
- Jackets or elegant outerwear
- Closed-toe shoes or dressy sandals
Restaurant
Dressing for Fine Restaurants
Fine dining in Vegas often comes with a dress code. While only a few, like Joel Robuchon at MGM Grand and Picasso at Bellagio, may require jackets, most fine dining establishments lean towards “business casual.”
This includes pressed jeans or slacks, button-down shirts (long or short-sleeved), and closed-toe shoes for both men and women. Ladies might also consider social occasion dresses.
- Men (Fine Dining):
- Jackets (required in select restaurants like Joel Robuchon at MGM Grand and Picasso at Bellagio)
- Pressed jeans or slacks
- Button-down long or short-sleeved shirts
- Closed-toe shoes
- Women (Fine Dining):
- Social occasion dresses
- Blouses with pressed jeans or slacks
- Elegant skirts or dresses
- Closed-toe shoes
Show
Dressing for the Las Vegas Show
The time of day influences your outfit choice for Las Vegas shows. Daytime shows are casual â prioritize comfort. Evening shows, especially upscale celebrity performances, often see guests dressing up more, though strict formal wear isn’t necessary.
Aim for an outfit that makes you feel comfortable and fitting in. For men, this might be dark jeans or slacks with a smart shirt, and for women, a dress or stylish ensemble suitable for an evening out.
In all these settings, the key is to balance comfort with style, keeping in mind the specific atmosphere of the place you’re visiting. Remember, Vegas is a place to impress and enjoy, so dress in a way that enhances your experience and confidence.
- Men:
- Daytime: Casual attire, such as jeans and a comfortable shirt
- Evening: Dark jeans or slacks, smart shirt
- Optional jacket for a more polished look
- Women:
- Daytime: Casual dress or comfortable yet stylish ensemble
- Evening: Dress suitable for a night out, or a stylish top with jeans or slacks
- Elegant accessories to enhance the outfit
Conclusion
In all these settings, remember that Las Vegas is a place where you can express your personal style while adhering to the venue’s ambience. Comfort is key, but a touch of elegance never hurts in this vibrant city.
